With over a decade of creative agency experience, I’ve spent the past six enjoying canal-side living at Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam.
Whether it’s building a paradise in virtual reality, launching Nike’s modest swimwear in the Middle East, or putting a basketball hoop on top of Mount Olympus, I look to create work with real cultural impact. In my role, I bring a strategic lens to all projects – ensuring creative and effectiveness are delivered in equal measure.

Whilst I have been lucky enough to see many projects receive creative acclaim, I’m just as proud of the impact they’ve had on my clients businesses.

	Nike | Oranje Fatalis
A tulip with thorn for a team that knows how to hurt

To celebrate the Netherlands women’s team ahead of the Euros, we worked with Nike to revise one of the nation’s most iconic symbols. Introducing Oranje Fatalis, a tulip with thorns for a team that knows how to hurt.

Created in collaboration with Dutch silk flower specialists Bloom & Wolf, Oranje Fatalis is a new breed of tulip to represent the character and fear factor of the Leeuwinnen as they set their sights on European glory. Because orange is nice, unless you have to share a pitch with it. The thorned tulips will be taking over flower stalls across Amsterdam* in the lead-up to match days, available exclusively to fans wanting to show their support.

	Nike | Giulia Gwinn
The Conspiracy of Giulia Gwinn

As part of Nike Football’s global campaign “SCARY GOOD” we meet The Gwinners, a group of conspiracy theorists who believe German player Giulia Gwinn is just too good to be one footballer. The film, delivered in the style of a documentary, celebrates the creative and electrifying style of play that defies convention – the brand of football Nike represents.

The conspiracy centers around Gwinn’s unique playing style. As a fullback who defends, attacks, scores goals and plays with both feet, the film investigates claims that Giulia has a sinister secret: a twin, a clone, the involvement of aliens?

Good luck returning that
With a serve speed of 214 km/h, no other player hits as hard as Aryna Sabalenka. In the lead up to the defence of her title in Melbourne, Nike put the World No.1’s power on full display. Set to Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, the film showcases her dominance on the court, emphasizing the strength and precision of her shots.

	Nike | Paralympics
Extending from Nike’s global platform “Winning Isn’t For Everyone”, we created the anthem film “Winning is Winning” to remind the world that just like every other athlete that competes at the Games, Paralympians are obsessed with winning.

The uncomfortable truth is that Paralympians are often dismissed as ‘an inspiration’ just for being at the Games and not given the respect of their athletic merits. A fact that completely undermines the dedication, drive and achievements of Paralympic athletes. This campaign intends to right that wrong, showcasing the ferocious will to win of the Paralympians and telling the world that “Just being here isn’t winning. Winning is winning”.

In this same vein, we created “No Retreat” for Paralympic fencer Bebe Vio, showing her fearless love for a part of the sport that most people would describe as terrifying. Just like “Winning is Winning” the spot interrogates the narrative that the world is more comfortable seeing adaptive athletes like Bebe as an ‘inspiration’ than a winner. A story that dominates their narrative and detracts from their athletic achievement.

Wheelchair fencing is one of the most outrageous combat spots. All participants’ wheelchairs are fixed to the ground, but Bebe is also strapped to her chair with no option but to attack. The film shows visceral scenes of Bebe preparing for combat and coming eye-to-eye with her opponent, putting her daredevil mentality on display for all to see.

As part of the campaign we singled in on athletes whose relentless pursuit of victory truly never stops. Cindy Ngamba – the first refugee to win an Olympic medal, and Kimia Alizadeh – a 2x medal-winning fighter who changed her nationality to continue her sport. These films showcase what fuels these incredible individuals whose determination and pursuit of gold really has no limits.

	Nike | Olympic Refugee Team

‘Watch Where We’re Going’ shifts the narrative surrounding refugee athletes, spotlighting their resilience, hard work and athleticism as they show up ready to take on the best in the world.

We worked with Nike, the official kit supplier to the IOC Refugee Olympic Team, to introduce the athletes to the world stage. Creating a global campaign that shone a light on the unfair truth that refugee athletes are often defined by their refugee status, rather than their sporting ability.

Whether you’re a spectator, a fellow athlete or a rival, this message behind this campaign is born from a human experience felt and known by many. ‘Where am I really from?’ is a loaded question that can undermine and harm the person asked it. We took ownership of this question and answered it in a way that puts the athlete’s abilities in the spotlight. They might not all be from the same place, but they’re all from the same unrelenting desire to never give up – a tenacity that separates Olympians from every other athlete.

The anthem film features four members of the IOC Refugee Olympic Team – boxer Cindy Ngamba, judoka Mohammad Rashnonezhad, cyclist Eyeru Gebru and 800m runner Perina Lokure Nakang – and puts their resilience, hard work, and athleticism at the center of the conversation, showing the world that this is a team defined by what they do and where they’re going

As part of the campaign we singled in on athletes whose relentless pursuit of victory truly never stops. Cindy Ngamba – the first refugee to win an Olympic medal, and Kimia Alizadeh – a 2x medal-winning fighter who changed her nationality to continue her sport. Nike | LionessesYou’ve never seen England like this
Many English football fans haven’t had the chance to see their national women’s team in action – because they haven't been watching. What this meant was that people had never seen anything like The Lionesses before. Or simply put, never seen England like this.To rally the nation to get behind the squad for the tournament, we celebrated and championed The Lionesses by introducing their strengths through a series of projections, using iconic landmarks as our canvas.

Each place we chose for the projections has a strong cultural meaning that’s connected with the personalities and skills of the players on and off the pitch. Lucy Bronze, whose middle name is “Tough”, represents power on the Battersea Power Station, the captain Leah Williamson was projected on Tower Bridge, creative Keira Walsh – on the National Gallery, defender Demi Stokes – on the Thames Barriers, and incredible performer Georgia Stanway was celebrated on the Royal Opera House.

The reaction to the work was incredible. Press coverage across national outlets, a mention on live TV, the highest viewing figures for womens football ever....and while can’t take all of the credit, an inspired team that went on to become champions.

	Nike | Right to Run
Together with Nike we created an iconic image and statement to support and build awareness around DSD (differences in sexual development) athletes, specifically Caster Semenya, during the 2022 World Athletics Championships, across the UK and South Africa.

Caster Semenya is an incredibly accomplished runner, decorated Olympian and world record holder who, along with other DSD female athletes, has been victim to unfair discrimination and outright bans by several athletic governing bodies. Time and time again these forces have unjustly violated her right to run because she’s “too good” according to their narrow standards for female athletes provoking the question – how good can a woman be until “she’s too good to be a woman”?

Although Caster was qualified to compete in the 2022 World Athletics, she was forced to run in a distance six times longer than the one that she’s famous for.

With this print and social campaign, we saw an opportunity to question limiting gender standards by letting the world know everything that Caster Semenya had to endure just to do what she was born to do – run.

HOW GOOD CAN A WOMAN BE UNTIL “SHE’S TOO GOOD TO BE A WOMAN”?

I am Mokgadi Caster Semenya.

I am a woman and I am fast.

I worked, I trained, I dedicated my whole life to running.

That’s what makes me good.

But apparently, too good for some.

So good that I’m denied the right to run my race, unless I take medication to change the body I was born with.

So good that I’m left with no choice but to compete in a distance 6 times longer.

So good that my genitalia and DNA are scrutinized.

So good that I’m told to take medication to change the body I was born with.

Why must womanhood fit within such narrow standards?

Being “too good” doesn’t make a woman any less of a woman.

It only challenges limitations of how good a woman can be.
